:   One of the best ways that I've found to analyse a concept is to take it
to

:  the extremes.  This can save a ton of wasted time once you realize the

:   inevitable direction, and more importantly, what needs to be done to

:   prevent it from going to that extreme.



Silencing legitimate opposing views with accusations of "logical fallacies"
is browbeating.

Also, the "to extremes" above is a really big fallacy - "If X is true, then
Y must also be true (where Y is the extreme of X)".

Just because I can sell $500 worth of honey in one hour at a church bazaar
doesn't mean I can do that every day.



:   Friendly discussion and debate is far more productive if we all

:   refrain from using logical fallacies in our arguments, and use some
degree

:   of decorum in our discussions.



Addressing the merits without "debate tactics" is friendly.  Be hard on
issues, soft on persons.



In mite treatment, it has been over 30 years, but no one has a reliable
control.  There's lots of room for new ideas, every idea so far has
"failed" to keep varroa from killing some of the treated hives.
