I have grown a garden since I was in my teens.
Every year the squash vine borer terminates my squash plants; not this year.
The striped cucumber beetle gets my cucumbers; not this year.
What happened to them.
I did not use any chemicals.
I have three cherry trees and an apple tree.
I see my bees on them and usually I see many different bugs that I can’t identify; not so many bugs this year.
I looked at the vehicles in the Walmart parking lot again.
There are hardly any bugs on the fronts or the windshields.
I have had a bird feeder for many years and have suet cakes year round.
I have spent a lot of money on feeding the birds, including peanuts for the bluejays.
I used to fill the bird feeder and replace the suet cake every three or four days.
This year the bluejays did not show up and the suet cake stays for 7 to 10 days.
These are my own observations. But I have to wonder what this means for my bees.
I do not have the wherewithal to do scientific studies.
I don’t think most of the general population knows about what is going on in the environment.
