That's actually less than the 93.6 million acres that were planted in 2007:

Corn acreage in the Midwestern States has not been increasing
consistently from year to year:  Example: In 2010 the acreage
planted in corn in Iowa, was down 400,000 acres as compared
to 2009 and down 350,000 acres in both Nebraska and South Dakota:

In your home state of Missouri, acres planted in Corn has
varied from year to year and has not increased significantly
since the neonic corn seed treatments became popular
beginning around 2005:
