In an attempt to validate the claim that beekeeping is the #2 alternative
hobby in 2024, in a bit of searching I came across this site (
https://modestfish.com/survey-americas-top-alternative-hobbies-for-2024/ )
that includes a "Key Finding: 1. Beekeeping is the most popular hobby for
2024, highlighting a desire to connect with nature and contribute to
environmental sustainability."

The blib about the methodology seemed more authoritative than what my
friends been telling me about beekeeping:

*Methodology*

Online panel survey of 3,000 adults based on age, gender, and geography.
Internal data sources are used to obtain population data sets. We used a
two-step process to ensure representativeness through stratified sampling
and post-stratification weighting.

In any event, for those interested the site included a cool map identifying
state preferences. Check it out.

Who'd a thunk that beekeeping is gaining ground with the hobbyists?

A tip o' the hat to Paul for digging this topic up.

Steve
