To my knowledge, there are at least a dozen film makers  currently working on 
documentaries about bees.  Some are focusing on  beekeeping per se, some on 
CCD, some on individual beekeepers, etc.  Some  are well funded, most are 
working on spec.
 
If you wish to donate to one, check them out, see if you agree with their  
focus -- each has their own take on things.  Just because someone asks for  
money to produce a bee film doesn't mean that you don't have other options -  lots 
of choices at the moment.
