Bob and others,

Cool Thanks, I'm always on the lookout for smartweed while duck hunting, never thought about it as forage.

I'll try it next year, I know where there are miles of it.

>If looking for honey to
>sell as wildflower I look for queen annes lace, goldenrod, sunflowers ,
>Spanish nettles and asters.

Where they grow thick, I always seem to find goldenrod and asters in the same locations. And the nice thing about goldenrod is it's pretty easy to spot growing way before it flowers.

>The article was in Bee Culture in January of 2003 (not sure) but was the
>same month I had a article in ABJ about Dann Purvis.

Stupid me, at our beeclub fundraiser auction last Monday night I had the chance to buy bundled whole years copies of both magazines for $3.00 a year and passed. I'll find the article.

I have some, I'll do more when I get the chance.

Thanks again for the smartweed tip.

Don
