A colleague ask me about the use of Toltrazuril for controling Nosemosis.

He said there is an Argentinian Lab selling an approved product call
ZURILNOS
http://www.snaiwer.com.ar/2_eng.html (probaly you will have to clik on the
Zurilnos menu)

The active principle is Toltrazuril.

In this short communication
http://www.springerlink.com/content/ql3136l7m5m2l853/
they mention to be effective agains Nosema sp in Apis at a rate of 20* u*
g/ml

on this other
http://agris.fao.org/agris-search/search/display.do?f=1999/PL/PL99004.xml;PL1999000212

they said: " Baycox in doses of 25 and 50 ppm of active agent (toltrazuril)
was not toxic to bees during 10 days of the experiment. The addition of
Baycox in such doses of the active agent did not have a significant
inhibitory effect on the development of the parasite Nosema apis in the
midgut epithelial cells in the honey bee ".

Any one have any other references or ideas about this product?
