My point was about shared assumptions and methods and groupthink -- and
the inability to parse what others are saying in the eagerness to rebut instantly 
with tangential arguments and subtle smears.  To me this reflex, patent
response -- rather than a thoughtful appreciative assessment and dispassionate 
discussion of the very relevant points proves my point far better than I could 
without the assist.
