All organisms are exposed to multiple stimuli. Sometimes these are in conflict, as when bees are exposed to bright light from below (snow, water, etc). The more intense stimulus may override the weaker, as in light vs. gravity

> Part of the hallmark of insect behavior is an association of very inflexible behavior patterns with a propensity for learning that is often startling. Thus dragonflies and damselflies will attempt to fly upside down if illuminated from below.
