but in nearby India the yield increase

Glad you point us to cotton in India

http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=monsanto_in_India

from the article:

"Since 1997 182,936 Indian farmers have taken their lives and the numbers
continue to rise. According to a recent study by the Nation crime records
bureau, 46 farmers kill themselves every day- that is roughly one suicide
every 30 minutes"

Studies I have read on the net have in many cases shown GMO corn did not
increase yields over non GMO corn ( although Monsanto said yields would
increase by 50%) but GMO seed certainly did increase farmer costs in the
U.S. and in Canada.

Over a 1000 lawsuits are in court over GMO contaminating non GMO plants. I
posted months ago one of the first lost by the seed companies and I think
the settlement was 3 million dollars.

The truth is we did not need GMO to feed the world.
