I"m seriously thinking about giving up apple pollination. It's hard to imagine honey prices going back down below a dollar again and at 35 a hive for rental its starting to look like a loosing proposition. This past season was defiantly a looser. It was a late wet spring and the bees went into the orchards light and came out worse. I should of fed but didn't and the bees never built up properly for the summer flow. Usually I can't tell that big a difference between hives that get moved and those that aren't but this year it was obvious. If I new for sure the honey prices where going to stay above a dollar I'd give up the late night adventures.
