I'm no one's dairy expert, and no fan of BST, but I do like to check the
factuality of statements posted to the List.

Annual milk production per cow in Wisconsin (2010, in which about a quarter
of the cows were injected with BST) is about 20,000 lbs.

According to Wikipedia, BST is not permitted in Canada.  Yet, according to
the Canadian government, average milk yield in Canada is 9768 kg/lactation,
which works out to  about 21,500 lbs per year--more than that of Wisconsin!
