>My Q is on ozonation which has a DYI tinkering element directed toward the sanitization.   The Megan Colwell and similar presentations don't mention ozone generators as a more accessible alternative to irradiation.   

Many years ago when I was on our Research Council we looked at ozone for use in sterilising equipment that had had AFB.  The opinion at that time was that ozone was a good surface sterilant but had no penetrating powers.
