It's based on the principle of "whatever works" -- don't worry about the consequences. Very prevalent attitude.

Nonsense Pete. Complete disparagement of what you don’t understand.

While many here are quite certain that Antibiotics in feed and propholacticly are horrible, there is a lot of data that says nonsense. More dat out there that says its good, than those that say its bad.

We could use the neonics debate a s a perfect example. Tons of data points say its safe, ground truth shows its an improvement, but do a google search and they are destroying the world, why because the internet is where a lot of misinformation's is spread. It’s the current hotbed of whatever you want to believe propaganda. Your comment points that out very succinctly.

Do the research and you find huge meta data reports explaining why (fresh one last week I chose not to share) antibiotic feed in animals does not lead to increased resistance or superbugs, 50 plus years of groundwork to go with it, and thousands of research experiments done to support it. Billions of dollars spent on increasing animal health using it, none of that matters because a Google search shows up blaming its usage for superbugs which scare you. Nevermind the leading bugs are usually found in hospitals, and occur naturally in soil, no lets blame it in "dam the consequences" attitudes.

We can debate the point ad nausem, not worth the fight. The anti group won this battle, but don’t blame bad attitudes for people who have been trying there darndest to do the absolute best for animal health and bringing good healthy food to market. That’s just rude and uniformed. Thousands of scientist and researchers did the work to show it helped animal health. They worked with the FDA to get it approved. And consumers voted with the checkbook. Cripes medicated feed cost more than non medicated, but most picked it to practice good husbandry based on a lot of science.

Using google one can find any sort of research to shore up your point,

Try doing some research for the position that antibiotics in feed and preventive are good, and you will find that documentation also, but since that thought train misses most people personal agenda, they don’t show up at the top of a google search. Funny and sick how the world is going to change based on google searching.

Last week is was bashing the EPA leaders for doing what they were elected to do. This week bashing people who are doing the best they can?

Come on Pete, lets leave the side comments for facebook.

Charles
