to quickly see that the information offered is not of much practical value
to current beekeepers, and might be described by some as "misinformation" in
light of what has since been learned.

Yes, the old books are interesting, but the actual "theory and system" is
mostly self-amazement at the advantages inherent in moveable-frame
beekeeping.
This may be why "Beekeeping For Dummies" and "The Backyard Beekeeper" sell
so many copies, even though the entire E. F. Phillips Beekeeping Collection,
Dzierzon included, is online and free.

Regardless of the value with which one views his "system", a comparison of
survival rates from Dzierzon's day with today is about as valid as a
comparison of automobile fatalities from Dzierzon's day with today.
