Also directly, there will be proposals to use gene drive to control varroa.  Any trace of such a mite in hive products might also make them unsaleable in some markets.

I feel that this is an appropriate topic for the List, especially since so many are sorrowfully mis- or uninformed.


Agreed!,  as well as the AG discussion,  it all ties back very well.  If we limit it to just 100% direct bee stuff,  not much to discuss.  The amount of new research or information is very small.


Forage, GMO, are very strongly related to bees,  as well as some of the politics and legal issues.
