Please share this information.  Thank you very much.

Everyone -   The Honey Bee Exhibit at the NC Zoo in Asheboro is almost five years old.  Our exhibit opened in June of 2009.  A lot of you will remember the fund raising efforts that made this exhibit, a first of it's kind, a reality.  Visitors to this important permanent exhibit are fortunate to have beekeepers volunteering to help them learn about Honey bees.

Each year we look forward to having additional beekeepers join this project.

Any interested beekeeper is expected to participate in an Orientation and Training Session at the Zoo, fill out an information form, agree that his/her name may be checked in the National Sex Offenders Data Base, and be willing to wear the volunteer yellow shirt.

NCSBA, recognizing the importance of having beekeepers communicating with visitors, will pay for your first yellow shirt and your annual dues in the Zoo Volunteer Association.

The date for the Orientation and Training Session is Saturday, 27. April .2013 beginning at 10 AM - 2:30 PM. Time could vary.  The meeting will be held in the Stedman Education Building at the NC Zoo in Asheboro, NC.

Janno Lewis and Judy Pick are the coordinators for the Beekeeper Volunteers.  If you are interested, please contact us so we may answer your questions and keep you advised of all needed information.

We ask that you email both of us.
