Burnig ammoniumnitrate would not be my first choice to reset/narcotize bees. 

 

I assume the N2O (laughing gas) that is formed causes the effect. I am pretty sure other oxidation products will be formed like NO2 and part of the NH4NO3 will evaporate and these two are relatively nasty.

 

I would go for pure N2O, it is available in food grade and technical grade for engines.
