Thank you, Dean,

I plan to introduce a camera between 2 combs. Most of the videos I have seen until now are filmed through the glass panel of an observation hive. I want to shoot from a different angle, having the axes of the lenses parallel to the comb and not perpendicular to it. Actually my idea comes from seeing a video about hygienic behavior (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSGa9DKraGA). The images suggest that the bees catch the mite with their forelegs and apparently do something with their mandible, as if they were "munching" the mite. But from this angle one cannot really see this, only the rhythmic movement of the bee's head. I am curious to see this from the proper angle. For this reason I thought of using a spy camera, a miniature one, that may be easily inserted between 2 frames. But, as I have previously said I could not find one provided with macro capability.

Your video is remarkable and Kodak Zi8 seems to be convenient in many ways except for the fact that the lenses are placed on the wide side of the camera (2.4 × 4.5 in) and the focus range of macro is 15 cm. I would have preferred to have the objective placed on the narrow side (2.4 × 0.9 in) and to have the possibility of focusing at a closer range.

Any idea or suggestion regarding this topic is very welcome.
