The NBU found that EFB recurs in 27% of cases treated with antibiotic.

AFB is not killed by OTC - it is just suppressed: the antibiotic acts as a 
bacteriostat, not bactericide.  AFB scales are, of course, not affected by 
antibiotic and can remain viable for decades.
