>>>  knowing that it is pure honey and not partially recycled sugar.<><><>  My preventive measure to this possible problem is that I use food dye in the sugar syrup I feed to my bees, whether it's heavy over wintering syrup or light build up syrup.  If I detect any color in the frames due to food coloring I refrain from extracting that honey.
On a side note, I was wondering what honey made from coffee flavored sugar syrup would taste like, or flavored with some other strong flavored syrup.
