I have taken to heart the thread on dried chicken blood and, if I ever used
it, I can picture what I would tell my customers-

I believe in sustainability and practice it.I have found a source of pollen
substitute that I use when there is no pollen and during Dandelion season
to help my bees since Dandelion pollen is not that nutritious for my bees.
The pollen substitute is Purina Bee Chow and has DCB, one of the
ingredients you feed your dog, cat and birds. I particularly wanted to use
it because it has a wonderful source of amino acids which my bees, as well
as most all living things need to survive. DCB is a byproduct of chicken
farming. Which is another reason I use it is because I am helping the
chicken farmer, the farmer is helping me and my bees are healthier because
of it.

In agriculture, we are always looking for a sustainable model, and with
this partnership between beekeepers and chicken farmers, we can all help
the planet. Nothing goes to waste.

In fact, we are currently starting a new organization just of beekeepers
called- Bee Sustainers.
