An excellent idea.

We are currently working on getting members to overwinter their own replacement nucs, with that very idea:  cover your own losses, and sell the surplus.     Hoping to engage local officials to assist with bulk-inspections to offset any disease risk

Given the variety of different ways folks want to do things, I think a club-initiative would be a hard sell, but supporting individuals to it themselves has promise.

Members seem slow to appreciate the need to plan for loss replacement, but get excited when presented with the potential of selling surplus in the spring.
