Inspected my green hive today. Found plenty of honey stores, adequate
population. Could find no eggs, saw just palm size area of larvae, no capped
brood. Very little stored pollen, but bees are bringing new pollen in.
Took a full frame of eggs from my over populous hive (blue) and moved it to
the
green to let them raise their own queen, at least until I can find a queen
to
order.
If I can not find a mated queen to order, my concern is whether or not there
would be a drone population for the new queen this early in the year.
I am located in central (Perry) GA.
The new queen should hatch in 13-16 days.
Roni
