At yesterday's association meeting the topic of the Moir Library came up.  The National Library of Scotland are now caring for the rare book part of the collection, and you can see something of it here:

Charles Butler's attempts (1609 and 1634) to transcribe queen piping into musical notation.

Drawings of bees made with the aid of early microscopes, the Mellissographia (1625) and Stelluti's illustrations from 1630.
