Nice Paul,  wish I had thought of it!  The Flower you mentioned is our
goldenrod.  And of course some what appears to be the wild sunflowers that
grow roadside in that area .....  Nice that it wasn't mowed.  That's one of
our unfortunate issues.  Most of that gets cut down here in Il and IA.....


Typical flock of fall blackbirds.....  give it 2 months and the flock will
number millions of birds,  feeding on insects and grain left in the fields.
In the last 20 years a lot of the bird specices that flew south have been
shortstopping.  Usually just right at the snowline. (so they can still
forage)  Geese will even stay when there is 3-4 inches of snow.  The
songbirds though will move south more if they get any serious snow cover.
