I am not worried about them disturbing the bees. I am more concerned about
the bees disturbing them.

I have a hive on the side of our house. We regularly take visitors to
"visit the bees". We have never had a sting. We move slowly through the
bees, mow around the hive and my husband even takes the weed eater around
it - while wearing shorts and sandals ( I know but he's crazy anyway.)

How much shade can be tolerated? Thanks in advance for your help in this
matter.

I don't know about this one, always had my bees in the sun.
