You don't have to "manipulate" the colony. Look down in as you did. If you
can see honey, they're ok.
Several on each side...you mean 6? That would be 36 pounds left. And maybe
some in the combs below these six? Should be plenty to get through until
spring. If they get down to two frames (15 lbs) then I would feed. Keep
track of them between Willow and Dandelion, but they should have plenty
until then.
