My mutts, carny and WSU based, will mostly shut down in early to mid
> Sept. with still a month of available pollen that they continue to haul in

I concur, that's the norm for our bees in Western MT.


Also, day length is well known to affect bees - old experiments with bees in darkened rooms and on ships clearly demonstrated diurnal responses.
