So-- you dismiss the work because the hives were in the same apiary. Fair enough. I dismiss any results using small cells with Africanized bees. They are naturally going to do better on small cells, because that is the size that they build and they are small bees. Small bees living in large cells would provide more space for varroa to multiply. Large bees living in large cells would have comparatively less space. Furthermore, Africanized bees have behavioral characteristics that would invalidate comparison with non-Africanized bees.
