As a bit of a neophyte in all the political stuff (five years in), the thing I find the most confusing is assessing the bias, impartiality and/or credibility of an organisation without putting hours I don't necessarily have into it, before I even get to the meat of the issue. 
 
I've seen the name Xerces about, but don't know about them beyond the name.  Anyone have any input on them?
