I think the average here is 2-3 lbs. of beeswax per hive and the hives
make a 150lb. surplus. I would say 1 lb. per deep Super. bulk crude light
beeswax is going for $1.50 lb. tops. Corn Syrup goes for .16 lb. So to
equal feed and product you could only feed 9lbs. (a gallon)of syrup. I
don't think the bees are going to produce that much beeswax on a gallon.
Double the price and its two gallons. nope. I think there is a reason
beeswax is considered a by product and not a main crop. I bet if you got
$6.00lb. for it you would be extremely lucky to pay for the feed required
to make it. Best stick to the honey flow.
