Have you thought about using a Top Bar Hive rather than the conventional
style? Having only built my first TBH a couple of months ago I do not have
a great deal of experience of them but although they are enormous hives you
don't have much lifting after they are set up. There are no supers or extra
boxes to lift. The only lifting you will have to do is one frame at a time.
There are at least a couple of web sites devoted to this style of beekeeping
which might be worth a look.
