To keep one other rabbit trail from starting-

Even if pollen or nectar from GMO crops are less nutritional, and they are
the only source of nutrition for bees commercially pollinating them, do not
get into a tizzy*. There are plenty of examples of bees doing the same with
non-GMO crops and insufficient nutrition.

Blueberries are classic. They are not GMO but bees will come off
blueberries with less stores than when they go on and are in great need of
feeding. It is all in the shape of the flower.

What is interesting in these threads is you hear from us hobby or sideline
beekeepers about the possible lack of nutrition in GMO mono crops. Probably
98% of us are not near one, while the commercial beekeepers pollinate them
and adjust to any nutrition problems as they do for non-GMO crops. In
essence, it is a manufactured problem.
