"I had better survival with the sugar blocks which is why I switched to all sugar blocks last winter. I had 100% survival with 34 nucs with sugar blocks on them. Just my experience and not a controlled study."

 Did you make the sugar blocks or purchase them? If you purchased, would you please share your source?
