Hello all:

My wife and I are planning to relocate from San Diego County, California to Texas later this year or early next year, and I would like to take my five colonies with me.

I plan to staple them and strap them down in an open trailer, screening the entrances of course. I thought I would cover them with netting or burlap as an extra precaution.

Can anyone tell me if there are legal restrictions to such bee relocations? Do I need permissions, inspections?

I would also appreciate any advice that would help ensure the well being of the bees. Should I consider division board feeders with water or dilute sugar syrup? There's a distinct possibility that it will be HOT, depending on when we travel. Travel time should be no more than 3 days.
