<Since switching to liquid smoke, I haven't noticed those irritating little
black specks that seem to get through the finest strainer when bottling
honey.  Looked at under the microscope they don't have any regular form as
seeds or pollen would and so it is possible that they are carbon emitted
from the smoker.>

I had that trouble this year (definitely smoker, one problem with top
entrances) until I stole one of my wife's drying towels.  I poured the
honey through a cotton "flour sack" towel, came out spotless.
