I'm not sure that "years of experience" is all that meaningful for
stats. I now have 5 summers of experience... with one hive (or two,
counting that I help my neighbour with his hive). The first summer
I was closely accompanied by professionals who visited every few
weeks and showed me the ropes; since then I've bumbled along on my own.

How would that compare with a person who spends just one summer
working with experienced professionals every day, managing dozens or
hundreds or thousands of colonies?

Perhaps we should multiply years by number of colonies, and count
experience in "colony years"!

And on the other hand, some people do the same thing year after
year after year without learning anything new, while some of us
attend lectures and read textbooks and magazines and mailing lists. :-)

So much for stats! :-/
