Yeah.  I had stock that used them well, but decided to add some
reportedly resistant stock and brought in some new strains.

Not only did these new bees prove not to be as varroa resistant as the
original stock, but I don't see the colony size or vigour I did before.

I may reconsider the triples and go back to doubles, but basically right
now, the third box on the bottom is just in storage and adds to height,
which IMO is a good thing.

Singles work fine for me in summer, but never in winter.

If I place the single up on a box so it looks like a double, it winters
almost as well as a double, the difference being the smaller starting
population.
