It should be remembered that there are a number of different bees in 
Africa. What's been imported to Europe and incorporated in for example 
the buckfast bee is monticola and saharensis. The scutellata that 
cause the American problem is a total different bee.

So we should maybe not refer to "African" bees, but rather talk about 
scutellata here.
