Emne: Re: I feel Trapped!

I don't recall any disputes,

I thought so because I expected my answers to you to go to bee-l, but I must have been confused because you like here is using your e-mail as reply address.

but at any rate, disputes do not go to Best
of Bee. What goes to Best of Bee is an attempt at fair representation of
any worthwhile information that comes from disputes here. Your
description of your development of Bidata will likely go there, since it
is of interest to internet beekeepers, but any reference to Bidata will
still carry a caveat until I hear from anyone who can vouch for it
convincingly. If I get any response from the survey, the results will go
there too.

What is wrong here is, that you jumped on me because of a FTP server error, that I have no control over at all. And for that you blamed me and brought an issue forward that was solved long time ago. This was not fair. I have nothing against fair competition but his is not. It is direct against me and the EDBi foundation and the people who are helping me in this development.

However if you really want to feel trapped, put yourself in the
place of someone who downloads software from the internet after
hearing it recommended and finds his/her computer does not work... and
then imagine that he/she need the computer to make a living the next
day -- or maybe it isn't even his/her computer....

This I have already answered you, and you have also heard that the software installed without problems, and if you are not satisfied by this, it is your problem not the problem of the beekeeper society.

You are *selling* a programme that carries a higher cost than the Windows 95 Operating System and almost as much as an entire Office Suite.

You can't compare software in this way. I paid only USD15 for my upgrade from win3.1 and Microsoft has a special politick in marketing their products, that you should now .

It takes a lot of work to try out new software, and if it
will expire shortly, the work of trying it may be wasted. I have a
wonderful cardfile software program that I d/led, glanced at and loved,
but will never finish trying because the bother of putting data into, it
will be wasted after 30 uses -- since it turns out that is when the trial
expires. What if I haven't decided by then?

very short :-) You have to make the decision. But I give full three month and thirty trials, if you can't make the decision within this, I don't know what to say. Remember you have to use all of it up.

What amazes me about this whole business is that even now, after
requesting favourable testimonials from the almost 800 computer literate
members of this list is that not one person -- other than yourself -- has
written to me or to this list or to sci.agriculture.beekeeping saying that
the software works as advertised.

I think it is the way you opened this thread with, that stopped people from reacting.

I am still waiting...

So it is, I am also still waiting. But how should people Judge?? my software alone or the other software present too. I am not sure there is so many out there. And beekeeping can still be done without use of the computer.

Best regards Jorn.
