Hold on a second Allen,

The poster cited an article from commondreams.org that referred to a published study...one that has been recently discussed here on Bee-L.

The link to the published study was in the article, and was in the post.

The study does NOT say what the commondreams.org article says it says. The study is freely available for anyone to read.

This is supposed to be an informed discussion, not the tossing around of quotes from the mass media.

I don't ever wish to discourage a student from learning or discussion...but a student pursuing an advanced degree in science and environmentalism must either be a critical thinker (in this case, that would involve at least reading the study before posting the mass media soundbites), or be misinformed by those that insist on misinforming.

This kind of thing is an easy mistake to make, but most learning experiences are....
