I am looking for hard date related to use of hive products for dogs.

We are racing our sled dogs (35 years now) and are doing trials with our hive products to help 1. maintain weight during the race season, 2. increase uptake of food during racing season and 3. maintaining health along the trail. In the off season we have no trouble with the dogs in the dog lot. The race season includes many mid-distance races of 200 to 300 miles each at temperatures down to -50 F. ambient and wind chill to -100 along the Norton Sound, (the coldest we have seen is -78 F. ambient and -128 F. chill factor) followed by races like the Iditarod and Yukon Quest - each over 1000 miles. We are not currently running the Iditarod or Quest but preparing for it in the future, after more testing and preparation, and would appreciate your leads on use of hive products and dog health. Our schedule during the race is about 6 hours run time followed by 4 hours of rest. Occasionally we run 8 or more hours with small snack breaks but longer stretches in between official stops.

Your input would be appreciated.

Thank You, Dr. Joe Carson
