Hi Mike! Hope you are well.

My own take is: there has never been shown any evidence that workers move
eggs, though one would suppose that they COULD.

Much evidence points to workers laying eggs a lot, even in normal colonies.
These eggs are supposedly removed by other workers (worker policing).

The proof of course would be to raise the egg and see if it turns into a
queen or a drone ...
