I think that Andrew Matheson's `Practical BeeKeeping in New Zealand',
revised edition, 1993, GP Publications, Wellington, NZ is superb.
 
It is a simple but comprehensive manual for new beekeepers, and
manages to convey the flavour of NZ beekeeping to foreign beekeepers.
