I have never split one of my hives.

One of my 2 hives died over the winter. The bees are all clustered, but quite dead.

I would like to split my other hive to replenish the bees in the dead hive.

Can someone provide me with a pointer to step-by-step instructions for doing this please?

If someone's in Boston Metrowest I'd certainly appreciate any hands-on help as well.

Thank you.
