If you do early fall feeding and see that you are running into early swarming problems, you might consider using a Snelgrove board for swarm management ( http://www.wbka.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/The-Many-Uses-Of-A-Snelgrove-Board-by-Wally-Shaw.pdf ).   I have taken the concept and modified it for my own particular use to make splits and nucs.
