I seem to recall one of the Journal writers several years ago referring to
some research done on different winter hive wraps, and that some of the
tested materials generated to much heat in the hive. I cannot seem to
locate any of the research online, does anyone have a link to it, or know
the general info?
Specifically I was wondering about hives wrapped in plastics as opposed to
tar paper. I have seen some recent photos of hives wrapped in black
plastic, as well as being aware of the commercial plastic insulated
blankets. So I got to wondering about actual measured benefits of
different hive wraps.
Thanks all!
