I'm looking thru an old (1890) household cyclopedia and reading their
beekeeping section where they discuss bee races. The one they enthuse
most about are albino bees : "surpass all others for gathering honey".
I've never heard about albino bees (apart from the genetic sports) and
an internet search doesn't get me much: are these called something
else now?

The races it lists are albino, black, cyprian, egyptian, and italian.
