Perhaps it is due to the tone of firm certainty with which divergent views
are dismissed,

It seems progressively more clear that we don't yet know enough to say for
sure if there are significant unintended consequences of this new pesticide
tech or not.  Even if one might think that the evidence is overwhelming, the
number of "surprises" to date, (from planting dust problems in Italy/Germany
that were dismissed as "never will happen here", to the surprising
persistence of chemicals that were said to readily break down, to even the
re-emergence of "Guttation" as a documented foraged-upon source of water for
bees under field conditions, to the tangible impact on bumblebees of "field
relevant doses" encountered in "actual field conditions"...) tend to show
that many assurances offered beekeepers have turned out to been incorrect.

Keida (Makeida Beckford) reiterated the point that "If you don't stand for
something, you're gonna fall for anything", but then goes on to sing about
the need for an abandonment of the "us vs them" mentality - "We are the
'they' to solve the problem; the 'they' to make a better way..." 

It may just be reggae, but then, this is just beekeeping.
